On 7 January 2021, the tripartite agreement between the national safety authorities of the UK, France and the Channel Tunnel Intergovernmental Commission, on cooperation in the field of safety and interoperability of railway activities was signed.
It explains the arrangements for cooperation between the authorities in the issue of railway authorisations; for the management of the Channel Tunnel infrastructure; and the operation of cross-Channel rail services.
